Objects, images and building materials taken from the related processes of construction and entropy form the basis of these works. I rebuild aspects of these environments and utilize shifts in materials determined through a reciprocal logic, often duplicating a prefabricated material that is itself a simulation of an older building process.
The substitutions are casual, even off-handed, and aesthetically slight – it looks about like what it is – and flimsier than the original. While these works produce an inquiry into material failure, artifice, and progress, the works primarily collect and gather these objects and materials into unexpected moments, expanding into the tiniest pathos of these contemplations.
