Ongoing series, since 2009

Objects, images and building materials taken from the related processes of construction and entropy form the basis of these works. I rebuild aspects of these environments and utilize shifts in materials determined through a reciprocal logic, often duplicating a prefabricated material that is itself a simulation of an older building process.

The substitutions are aesthetically slight – it looks about like what it is – and flimsier than the original. These works produce an inquiry into material failure, artifice, progress, and the collapse of ideologies that accompany our architectures.
